Dom Ocampo

Dom Ocampo (they/them, she/her) is a senior at Lehigh University in the IDEAS program studying mechanical engineering & theatre design as media for transformative justice. With over a decade of fiction-writing experience, Dom now hops between playwriting, acting, and set creation with bright eyes. They aim to tackle radical empathy and QTPOC liberation in all their creative works. At Lehigh, their theatre credits include Dog Act (actor), Smart People (actor), and GPS Fall 2021 (lighting designer, actor). As a researcher, writer, director, and designer on social justice theatre project Beyond Bars, they hope to use storytelling to encourage abolitionist-informed action in the Lehigh Valley carceral system. When Dom isn't theatre-making, you can find them playing Dungeons & Dragons, picking a new gender, or dreaming about British short-hair cats.

CLICK dissects the hard realities of youth within the school-to-prison pipeline from different cultural perspectives. As Derek, King, and Joni attempt to escape detention, we witness an ancient pattern: despite having vulnerable conversations, (cis-hetero) white people often continue to excuse and perpetuate an oppressive system.
