About the Project
The Reminder Plays Project aims to create a free online database of queer plays by queer playwrights. Phase 1 will build a foundation for the database by gathering plays from Philadelphia-based queer playwrights. During the month of October, the Reminder Plays Project will highlight one Philadelphia playwright per day on social media as well as on the project’s website. Phase 2 will solicit national submissions, culminating in the Year of Queer Plays: a social media campaign featuring one queer play/playwright for 365 days in a row. Phase 3 will launch the fully realized version of the database. Part archival project and part promotional tool, The Reminder Plays Project hopes to connect queer artists & audiences to stories in which they can see themselves represented.
